She has gracefully shaped hands, but deceitfully so. Actually, they’re clumsy; always dropping and bumping and scraping. They appear graceful–slender fingers and long, thin nails.
She’s always on the receiving end of compliments involving her nail beds, which he finds hilarious and perplexing. Who thinks to compliment the beds of one’s nails? But he has to admit that when he takes a moment to consider hers, they are beautiful. Like the rest of her, he decides.
And then he is acutely aware that he is falling hard. One does not consider the nail beds of another person unless he cares very deeply, and he realizes that he does.
